Has there been a threat? From http://www.thaivisa.com/index.php?514&backPID=514&tt_news=276 Kiwis in Thailand warned Travel warning for foreigners in Thailand in light of terrorist threat- kiwis asked to register at NZ Embassy A travel warning has been issued for Thailand. Foreign Affairs says New Zealanders in Thailand, including the resort town of Phuket, should take sensible precautions for their personal safety and exercise a high degree of security awareness. There are fears about a possible terrorist action, particularly in commercial and public areas, including landmark places known to be frequented by foreigners. Travellers are being warned to take care on public transport and in hotels, bars and shopping areas. New Zealanders living in Thailand are being encouraged to record their details with the New Zealand embassy.
