Wanted: Car trailer instead of Pickup

Featured Replies

To be honest it does sound a bit far fetched that in the land of "rarely do you see a trailer" the insurance companies stipulate they must be fitted with brakes otherwise your insurance is void yet in other countries where trailers are like A-holes (everyone has one) no such clause exists in the insurance policies other than the trailer must be roadworthy.

The DMV in Canada states that over a certain GVW - 1000kg if memory serves - brakes required.

Insurance company wants trailer to be legal and roadworthy. That being said home made - using a pickup truck box - is OK.

Yeah in my home country it is the same. what does not make sense here is that a 6x4 box/jetski/motorbike trailer etc etc supposedly needs brakes according to bazlmb.
