Anyone Ajax Personal Homepage Fans Here?

Featured Replies

I am wondering if anyone here is a fan of these newish Web-based Personal Homepages.

If you're not sure what they are, here's a little background. They're the vanguard of a very interesting 'mashup' in Web 2.0 services coming down the Internet pike. Most techies are calling them AJAX Homepages. The AJAX here being Web parlance for apps. that make use of- Asynchronous JavaScript and XML.

I would think these would be ideal Desktop [surrogate] solutions for people who travel a lot. Especially those who like to leave the computer at home. Although, in the prescence of dial-up and less than ideal Internet infrastructure, I think these homepages may dissapoint users. Or, said another way, it's likely they show off their functionalities and capabilties far better using higher speed connections.

Just by looking at their homepages you get a 'sense' of what they look like once you configure them. In my case, after registering for a NetVibes page, populating it with some links, a Gmail account, some RSS Feeds, and making a second and third page of separate interests I am now sold on the potential of these things.

So, without saying more than that, I'll just offer up some links to the key providers and ask if anyone is using them or interested.
