Channel 7au

Featured Replies

Is there any way I can watch this channel in Thailand I have tried hola browser I also have channel 7 app installed I can get the website up but catch up won't play

Must be quite a few Channel 7's in the world, I'm guessing you might mean the one in Australia (au.tv.yahoo.com) but I could be wrong. That runs OK with catch up on their web site with a VPN.

I had the same problem when reading this thread.

What "channel 7au"? Link?

I thought the AU was good enough but thanks for reply I thought hola was a VPN but it doesn't work for me.

I found the program I wanted to watch on you tube I just have to wait until someone uploads the latest episode

The Add-On in my XBMC "Veetle" used to carry the link for channel 7 in OZ listed under international TV channels but not sure if it is still there, the last time I checked the reception was terrible and kept dropping out every 10 minuites.

au.tv.yahoo.com states the webplayer must view the following domains:

*.brightcove.com

*.brightcove.co.jp
bcove.me
*.o.brightcove.com
brightcove04.o.brightcove.com
hls.ak.o.brightcove.com
uds.ak.o.brightcove.com
brightcove.vo.llnwd.net
*.llnwd.net
*.edgefcs.net
*.edgesuite.net
*.akamaihd.net
*.analytics.edgekey.net
Guess they want to make sure the advertising redirects work before they let you view the content.
In order for Hola! (or any other proxy service to work with au.tv.yahoo.com) to work, you would need to set all of the above domains to use their Australia proxy.
As you have experienced, it may be possible to get the content elsewhere (if someone has access to the content to put up elsewhere).

au.tv.yahoo.com

I've just watched this and the catch up on demand features using ibvpn using their Australia IP address. No buffering on a 10mbps local ADSL line.

Yep, a 'full VPN' service located in Oz should work fine, as ALL TRAFFIC is redirected.

The HOLA! browser extension works by ONLY redirecting the current Domain through their proxy/vpn service, all other domains called go direct to your ISP or are redirected if previously set to do so in the Hola! program.

Hola! does have the ability, through SCRIPTS, to redirect a 'group' of domains through their service ... though the script they currently have to support viewing au.tv.yahoo.com isn't working. I took a quick look at the script and a bunch of domains are missing from the group collective redirect request. Tried editing the script but I don't have details for adding the wildcard subdomain entries required. Oh well.

So, as mentions by WorriedNoodle, a 'full vpn' service located in Oz will work. Or even different browser/proxy extension that redirects ALL traffic (zendesk?) would probably work.

Thanks for all the concise response it would be beyond my ability to even think about having a go to sort it out at least I now know why Hola doesn't do the job.

I will just have to wait until someone uploads to utube the program episode's for last week are on there now so I will eventually see them.

Thanks again.
