Why haven't you learned Thai even after several years as an expat in Thailand?
I learned Thai to about the intermediate level, even some reading and writing. I have enough for my needs, so I stopped studying; I have better things to do with my time. I rarely use Thai, except when I really have to. For example, I'd never order food or drink in Thai in a tourist area. I'd use English, of course. Guys who do that are just trying to impress the staff. But at a hospital talking to a nurse with poor English I might be able to describe my symptoms more understandably in Thai, though most doctors will understand my symptoms in English medical jargon more clearly than with my limited medical Thai vocabulary. I am just not really interested in Thai language and I don't care. -

Are you (or anyone you know) injured by the Covid shot? Try detoxing from the Spike protein.
You might not think so from my postings, but I am anything but a fanatic and more a live-and-let-live person. Also I never bring up the vax-issue in social gatherings with people that are pro-vax. And when somebody during the conversation states a pro-vax opinion, I mostly let it go. It is only when they keep on stating their views, that I simply respond that I am of a different opinion. And unless they are genuinely interested in my reasons for having such an 'off-the-beaten-track' stance, that I will open up about it. But whenever the first signs of ridicule or aggressive rebuttals appear, I tell them that I have my reasons and that I don't want to discuss it and then move on to another topic. Several of my friends and family members are pro-vaxxers, but unlike the vaxxes I do not let the issue poison our relationship. Posting on the Forum is different, and there I can go full monty as most of the members only consume MSM-sources and another perspective can make them reconsider when they are open to it. And yes I am human too, and I have zero compassion for the evil vax-pushers, but I do have sympathy for their victims, the deluded ones. -

Accident Chinese Critically Injured in High-Speed Pattaya Crash After Hitting Speed Bump
Picture courtesy of SiamChon. A Chinese national is in critical condition after he lost control of his high-powered motorcycle he was riding and crashed into an electricity pole early morning on 23 April, reportedly after hitting a speed bump at high speed. The accident occurred at 05:15, in Soi Chaloem Phrakiat 3, Pattaya City, Chonburi Province. The Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Pattaya rescue centre received an emergency call and immediately coordinated with Pol.Lt. Anand Mahakit-Asawakul, deputy investigation officer of Pattaya City Police Station, who rushed to the scene with rescue volunteers. Upon arrival, responders discovered a Kawasaki black superbike, bearing registration number from Bangkok, damaged after colliding with a concrete pole. Debris from the motorcycle, including shattered parts and a broken full-face helmet, was strewn across the road. Lying unconscious nearby was the victim, believed to be a male Chinese national aged between 30 and 40, with no identification documents found on him. He sustained critical injuries and was found barely breathing. Rescue personnel and medical staff administered first aid at the scene before urgently transporting him to hospital. The crash also caused damage to roadside property, including a set of tables and chairs and a makeshift awning belonging to a nearby food vendor. An eyewitness reported that the victim had been seen riding the same motorcycle through the soi multiple times during the night. Moments before the crash, he was observed riding at high speed, hitting a speed bump and subsequently losing control before slamming into the electricity pole. Both the rider and the motorcycle were thrown in opposite directions from the impact. Police at the scene secured CCTV footage showing the victim travelling at high speed immediately prior to the accident. Initial investigations confirmed that no other vehicles were involved. Authorities are continuing to investigate and are working to establish the victim’s identity. Adapted by ASEAN Now from SiamChon. -- 2025-04-23 -
