I had some faulty downloads in the past, but because they were mkv movies, there was no problem.

Today I'm trying to download iOS 8.1.3 update for wife's iPhone 5S. It always says download is corrupted.

So I downloaded it myself, it works but phone can't update/restore and gave error 14.

I was almost mad, but then I compared md5 sums of file in my server and file that I downloaded 3-4 times. Every time, I get different md5 sum but it is not a match!

With tcp packets, corrupted downloads should not happen this frequently.

Now I just created par2 recovery files for that iPhone6,2_8.1.3_12B466_Restore.ipsw file and this time I'll fix the dam_n file and put iphone back to life.

Anybody having corrupted downloads problem?

I downloaded same file to my nas device.

file seems ok.

perhaps corruption happened while downloading via 5ghz wifi connection, again, which should not be happening but atleast I managed to fix my problem (use ethernet cable for sensitive files!)

When I has my flaky TOT DSL connection (had to reset 2-3 times a day) I had MD5 issues when downloading firmware packages over http.

Having been on TOT Fiber2u for a year now I can't say I've run into the issue ... at least where it wasn't directly tied to international packet timeouts.

I've downloaded a bunch of files this week, some a couple hundred MB in size, with no corruption problems on my True DOCIS 15Mb plan here in Bangkok.

Same problem again. This time I downloaded to my nas (connected via ethernet)

So what I get after download is

719fd4271f5c7d11cb5ad62a8febbbd1 codex-zombie.army.trilogy.iso

it should be

35b528d34e465173fda0bc70c2e20ce8 codex-zombie.army.trilogy.iso

Note: I downloaded this for testing purposes only. I don't play game on ultrabook with intel hd graphics lol.

I used a proxy server to avoid True's transparent proxy (and to increase my download speed)

Problem persists, yay!

@muratremix are you still using a digital ocean vps in Singapore for you proxy, and if so what you're off speed are you getting for a single thread?

I'm using digitalocean http proxy.

Speed varies. With 10 connections I usually max out my 30mbit connection (4000 kbyte/s with extra 10% True likes to give)

Single connection is about 20mbits depending or where you're connecting via Singapore vps. Some locations better than others.

Btw my download above is from http server, not bittorrent (it does crc check after downloads) and via singapore digitalocean proxy.

Problem is most likely from docsis modem (Thomson Docsis 3.0) which True does not want to change to Cisco EP3825.

I have the Cisco (20/2 line) and recently my overall connection has been really bad. I had high hopes after they took down their network this week that things might improve, but today it's just terrible again.

I use DigitalOcean for a couple of sites, so I must dig out your old post on setting it up as a proxy. Anything would be better than what I'm getting right now :(
