Scar Treatment / Silicone Gel / Creams

Featured Replies

Does anyone here have any experience using any do-it-yourself gels/creams for scar treatment. I had some electrocautery performed on my skin a couple months ago, and I do have some scars. Everything I am reading online says that scars will get better and fade over a year or so. But I would not mind helping it along if I can.

I read plenty of articles/debates on Vitamin E - many saying it does absolutely nothing, and others saying that it worked wonders!

I would rather avoid any further procedures (like lasers).

Thank you.

Not DIY but for keloid scar I was provided Erase Gel.

I checked a pharmacy near me - they had something called Cica-Care Silicone Gel - but like you, the package said it was for keloid scars... not sure that is very relevant for me.

The scares will fade in time.

Unless you have keloid formation then if you must just use simple, cheap , Nivia cream to soften and moisturise the scares.

For keloid scars seek the advise of a Dermatologist or Plastic Surgeon.
