I bought a used motorbike 12. December 2005, and with the seller we decided to give the paper-work for Mityon motorbike dealer in South Pattaya. They take care of the paperwork, insurance and tax with a reasonable price.

Paid Mityon 1456 baht including paperwork, tax and insurance.

Left the paperwork there and I told Mityon to bring certificate of my address from the immigration the next day.

That I did. 13th Dec I gave them a fresh new certification of address, drawn by immigration 30 minutes before that.

Time passed.

I went Mityon in about one month to ask the situation. No, not ready yet.

Time passed.

I went there again in 2 months. They asked me to bring a new certificate of address since "these documents go old very quickly" quoting the EXCACT words of them.

I did not believe that it is out-dated in 30 minutes which it took from me to drive from immigration to Mityon.

The girl promised to try do something about it.

Contacted them again in 1 more month and they asked me to bring a new crertification of address.

I refused and asked them to return me the paper-work since I had decided to use some other dealer since I don't consider it my fault if Mityon did something wrong to delay the process so much that the certification went out of date.

I asked them the tax and insurance tags for my bike since I had paid for those. They did not find them. Asked me to contact them again.

Time passed.

Went there again a couple of times and finally they decided to get me back my money and documentation but I needed to come again tomorrow since it is all at their "head-office".

Today 30th August 2006, about 8,5 months after we started the procedure at Mityon, they refunded me 1000 baht. No insurance tag, to tax tag, and 456 baht less than I paid them.... FOR NOTHING! Plus this I had 1 fine of driving without the tax-tag during this 8,5 months.

I did not bother to start raising my voice since the normal arguments did not seem to get any understanding. They did not know how to explain what happend.

This 456 baht + the hassle was just the price for me NOT TO NEVER EVER ANYMORE have anything to do this with this company.

I, as a business man, regard this a very cheap price from Mityon to sell it's reputation.

Just my experience.

Only one experience with Mityon and not a good one.

We bought my GF's Yamaha from them about 18 months ago. No problem until she had a minor accident, resulting in some damage to the transmission housing. The bike still runs OK but the housing is cracked and there's a potential for water and dirt getting inside, with predictable results.

Mityon are totally uninterested in obtaining the spare part to fix this. Apparently it will take 'at least 3 months to get the part'. What? This is Thailand - the whole country runs on motorcycles! An order placed today should result in a spare part within a week, even if it does have to come from BKK. Like I said, just not interested enough to pick up the phone and place the order!

Bike is now running on borrowed time but, if we have to replace it we will not be going back to Mityon.

By the way, have you noticed that they seem to do their maintenance on the pavement outside? Not too much sign of a proper repair shop. Anyone have a recommendation for a proper Yamaha agent in Pattaya?

I bought my Yamaha from Watchara Marine Co. Ltd. Drive up Pattaya Klang up to Sukumvit. Bevor the Traffic Lights the last Soi to the left.

They only sell Yamaha. Professionell and good organised. They speak english and the Service is good. I recomend them.

Mityon has been around as long as Pattaya has been on the map, and they have a "virtual" monopoly on the new motorbike business here. I do not know how many shops they have in the city now, but they are all over the place. Monopolies do not care an do not respond.

I have been happy with their service, but I can understand why a number of people who have required something "out of the ordinary" or "not out of the ordinary" have not been given fair service, and Mityon is not concerned about their clients losses.

There are a couple of shops on Sukhumvit Road going outside of Pattaya where one can get out of the Mityon monopoly range. Another option is to call the Manufacturer in Bkk and order the part yourself. They will mail it to you in a matter of days, and you can have any little shop install it.

One time when I went to Mityon, I should say three Mityon shops looking for the plastic lense for an old Suzuki Crystal. All three told me, after looking in their computers for Pattaya, that they would have to order it. I then went to the main office which told me that they did not have it either. While looking for something else, someone brought one out.

Amazing Thailand... Does anyone know why the Tourist Association or Thailand office and the Tourist Police office are up on the top and to the left of Workout Hill where no tourists visit? That building up ther say empty in the early 90s for years and years.

There is only one place to go for Yamaha in Pattaya and they are main agents and stock nothing else.At the top of Pattaya Klang just before sukhumvit road turn left and Wattana motors are just a few metres along.Bought several motorcycles new and secondhand from them. Service and spare parts, cheap and no problems at all.Every part I've wanted so far has come straight from stock.I've had to wait 6-8 weeks for reg book in the past.

Mityon? :o

I bought a Yamaha Nouvo (Mark I), which turned out to be lacking quality and full of design faults, from the Mityon dealer on Thepprasit Road. Within 3 weeks of purchase there was rusting appearing on the exhaust silencer and the wing mirror stubs. I went back to point this out and complain about the quality of this particular model. I was told that it wasn't the fault of the motorbike but the reason for the rusting was that I lived by the sea.

I followed up this visit by showing them another motorbike owned by me. A Honda Dream XS bought 13 years ago and which has spent its life beside the sea and still doesn't show any signs of rusting. I was given a shoulder shrug and said that nothing could be done and they wouldn't replace the rusting parts.

So, I sent an e-mail to Yamaha in Japan and, within 2 weeks, I had a phone call from a quality manager from Yamaha Thailand, asking me to take the motorbike back to Mityon to have the rusting parts replaced. They were replaced but Mityon obviously resented my contacting the parent company in Japan.

...and guess what!!! The replacement parts started to rust after 3 weeks!!! Every Mark I Nouvo seems to have a problem with build quality, and the design details are terrible, but Yamaha might have sorted these issues with the Mark II version. I sold this contraption quickly.

Mityon :D Yamaha Nouvo Mark I :D:D
