Funny thing on the Bkk Expressways today.

Featured Replies

I was making my way back home this morning using the expressways , the first couple of charges were cash , no problem .

On the legs that I was given a ticket first , when I reached the next toll booth , they took the ticket , told me " free " and waved me through.

I saw that the cars in front of me were handing money over , so I was surprised when they told me " free "

anybody else come across this today.

In the US, every now and then, someone would pay for the car behind them as well as their own, just to be nice. Maybe that was it.

During holiday seasons the intercity expressways are usually free in order to reduce congestion. It's not really funny.

Funny is when you see a long queue of cars waiting to take an exit but are really just queued up behind a broken down truck 100m from the exit.

Only free at xmas and new year. Would depend on where you got on or off amd which express you were on

This happens if you come off the motorway at Bangpakong if you picked up the ticket on the road connecting Bangna-Trat and the motorway near Bang Wua. I think it's because the toll booths in these spots are fairly new and previously nobody had to pay to exit here. Probably won't be free forever.

Elsewhere I have no idea about.

I cannot remember where the first one happened , I just thought the card was buggered , the second one was joining Rama 2 off the Kanchanapisek bridge .
