IEC-NEMA Adapter

Featured Replies

Has anyone come across an IEC-NEMA adapter, something like this one?

post-12040-0-60835400-1428120276_thumb.p

My APC UPS has only IEC outlet connectors - fine for the PC and monitor but not so good for other peripherals that come with NEMA plugs. I want to use a power strip, connected to the surge-protected outlet of the UPS, to power peripherals, but I can't find one with an IEC connector, hence the need for the adapter.

InvadeIT and Lazada don't carry these, it seems. I might be able to get one from Amazon but this seems a bit excessive for a small value item. I'm in the Pattaya area so it's possible that TukCom may have one but it would be useful to know if anyone has seen or purchased one before I brave the appalling local traffic to go down there and search.

Thanks.

I've seen these in assorted places, HomePro for certain, Tesco I think. I have a couple that I bought here, so they definitely exist.

Failing that, get a re-wireable IEC plug (may be harder to find, but again I've bought here in NPE) and fit it to your traily lead.

Thanks - it's nice to know that they do exist.

I've seen various adapters in Tesco, but never that type, but I'll have another look next time we do the food shopping. I'll definitely try HomePro or maybe HomeWorks too. I suspect that TukCom will have them, somewhere, but getting into town at the moment is a right PITA because of the Sukhumvit roadworks and the associated traffic re-routing.

They aren't something you find in many places. HomePro would be a good place to try, also Amorn.

I've got one but I purchased it from an electronics shop in Singapore for a couple of dollars. I've also got a power-board with the same connector purchased many years ago from IT City.

Put that picture on your phone and ask around. You might find it in one of those small computer accessories shops but it isn't a commonly sold part in my experience.

Yes, putting the picture on the phone is certainly a good idea. I'll do that.

Exactly what I need, thanks.

Yes, price is a bit steep but postage is free and a return m/c taxi into town would cost me 200 Baht anyway!

Success - got one in HomePro today. 155 Baht.

Thanks to those that replied.
