Pattaya, Chon Buri:- Three Thai men have been arrested for assaulting a British tourist in Pattaya on Sunday.

Pattaya police chief Pol Col Sukthat Phumphanmuang held a press conference at noon Wednesday to announce the arrest of Piyaraj Ketpratoom, 26, Patiphan Thuekwamsue, 28, and Pattana Muensaeng, 24.

They were identified by Lee Huntingdon, 36, as his attackers. The incident was caught on a security camera of a Family Mart shop.

The three admitted that they had assaulted Huntingdon early Sunday but because the Briton had allegedly molested an elder sister of Patiphan at 3 am Sunday.

Sukthat said Huntingdon, who was drunk, was walking back to the Nature View Hotel on Soi Bua Khaw when he stopped by at a hamburger shop in front of the hotel and spotted Patiphan’s sister.

Sukthat said Huntingdon then molested Kulthida Thuekwamsue, 32, by grabbing her bottom and hugging her. The act infuriated Mika Tapio Sauren, 44, a Finnish boyfriend of Kulthida.

When Sauren cried foul, Huntingdon punched him in the face so Kulthida called her brother to help.

The three said when they arrived at the scene, they found Sauren and Huntingdon quarrelling so they tried to intervene.

They said Huntingdon would not stop so Pattana slapped his face once.

The Briton then walked away and turned to shout abuses at the three before he ran inside the Family Mart shop.

The three then ran after him and beat him and fled the scene.

They said they did it out of anger and they were sorry for their act that might affect the Pattaya tourism.

Kulthida also filed a complaint against Huntingdon and police promised to investigate and take an action against him.

The senior police officer investigating the case at the time said in the press before they apprehended the assailants that he would actively pursue the culprits because of the effect the assault would have on tourism.

So that's where the quote comes from.

PATTAYA: -- The full details of the assault on a 35 year old British Man in front of a convenience store in Central Pattaya last Saturday Morning, have now emerged following the arrest of three Thai men who are suspected of conducting the attack.

A press conference was held at Pattaya Police Station on Wednesday afternoon by the station Chief, Police Colonel Sukthat, who announced the arrest of Khun Biyalat aged 26, Khun Batipan aged 28 and Khun Pattana aged 24 who are accused of assaulting Mr. Lee Huntingdon outside of the convenience store located in Soi Buakhao.

However, Mr. Huntingdon himself is the subject of a Police Investigation as a 32 year old Thai Woman, Khun Tida, has formally reported him for indecently touching her prior to the attack, which was conducted by her brother and two of his friends.

She claims that she was walking along the street with her boyfriend, Mr. Mika Sauren aged 44 from Finland, when Mr. Huntingdon approached her and touched her inappropriately. He was described as being in an intoxicated state but the incident angered Mr. Sauren who approached the Brit. A fight between the pair began and it was claimed that Mr. Huntingdon threw the first punch.

Men defending their pride and the virtues of whores. Evidently, by him hugging her, he knew her. If you are stupid enough to believe any girl, in Thailand or wherever, belongs to you then you might just shorten your own lifespan. Suicide comes in many flavors. As unpredictable as Thai tempers which can go from a smile to murder in an instant. Girls there can eat your burger and a hour later eat another man's steak. Money makes what you think is yours mines.

Claimed Mr Hunnington threw the first punch.cheesy.gif

Of course.

Funny. The farang always initiates these 'gang' attacks.

Bad farang.

He's drunk, he's a Brit, he groped a Thai woman . . . sorry, but he probably did throw the first punch. He allegedly punched the farang boyfriend of the woman he groped, not a gang of Thai men. The Thai men apparently came to the defense of the Finnish man.

You mean finnish coward calls on 3 more thai cowards to attack 1 man...

I thought the Thai lady called on her brother for help.

The Finnish 'coward' had got involved after his lady was molested.
