Thailand's Yasothon and Japan's Chichibu are Sister Cities which have similar rocket festival. The festival usually takes place on the second Saturday of May in each year. This year the three-day event runs from 8th to 10th May.

On the opening day, visitors will enjoy the grand parade and rocket procession, a cheer leader contest and a Miss Bang Fai Contest. On the second day, Japanese and International rocket floats will join the local procession. The last day is reserved for a variety of rocket competitions such as the Fancy Rocket and the Powerful Rocket in crowd pleasing action.
