Multiple Non B Visa In Hanoi

Featured Replies

Thanks to Sunbelt to suggest Hanoi as a place to go to get this.

Here is a summary of the whole trip, I've included few travel tip also if any of you are planning to go for holidays:

1. Book ticket and hotel through Airasia.com

a. Ticket = US$100 - there are 3 flights/day

b. 2* hotel = from US$10 and up. More like a 1* if you asked me

2. Flew in Saturday, Sept 2. I wasn't aware that it's a national day and since it's on Saturday that means Monday is a holiday and that also means that the Thai embassy is closed. I changed my ticket to stay another day = US$25.

3. Taxi to hotel = US$10. Check in the hotel in the old quarter, it's not a hotel, it's a hostel more like. The staffs are nice and friendly. Booked a tour to Halong Bay for Sunday = US$20

4. Halong Bay - nice caves, sadly the cave is filled with neon lights, killed some of the beauty i think.

5. Tuesday,9.30 AM to Thai embassy. I've brought all the paperwork. The staff(vietnamese lady) saw that my working permit expired on Sept 3, fortunately it has been frozen. So my lawyer faxed the embassy the documentation to prove this. Multiple Non B = US$150(they only take US$ not any other currency, even Vietnamese Dong).

They tell me to pick up the next day after 2PM. Besides me, there was only 1 other applicant.

6. Wednesday, 3PM, Thai embassy, pick up passport and voila Multiple Non B for 1 year!

Hanoi is a very hectic city, motorbikes everywhere, you feel like the frog in that computer game when crossing the road. MANY taxi are scammers, they played a lot with the meters - have the hotel book it for you, keep looking at the meter doesnt work.

Dont forget to try the dripping coffee with condensed milk!!

You are welcome. Good to hear it went smooth.
