AEC threat to Thai private schools

After reading the OP and comments here, it seems there is a stunning agreement, that state-chartered schools are not fit for any real competition, as competition means lower costs and better quality.

This must be a real knockout to the believers of state imposed regulations. Free(er) markets always are the only way for improvements in prices and quality in any sector.

Any more questions, Kienzle?

Gawd, quick off the mark?

I have been saying this for years.

What would people choose - an English Programme or a Singaporean Native-English School?

To quote Homer: D'oh!

english is a language and have nothing to do with a quality of a school

or a school system !!

A good school you can have in any lanmguage - multilanguage -

but I know our Brits dont know what means multi language !!

How many Brits are speaking a 2nd language ?

He also suggested that private universities should adjust tuition fees so more students can study with them, graduate and get jobs.

So, soon the government will get into the pricing of private schools too... same as hospitals...

Free market.... competition.... hmmmm, noooooo

TIT

Thai Colleges/Universities are only interested in revenue. My step-daughters studied to be teachers. The oldest one, just graduated has found the market is glutted with similar students and no jobs because there are no limits set by the Thai Government to the number who enroll on these and similar courses.

The younger girl is halfway through the course. So far she has been sent as a skivvy in a Koh Chang hotel for SEVEN months! She is currently inhaling dust ten hours a day in a Japanese factory with two more months still to go. (She is paid 300 a day less food/lodgings.)

She couldn't explain how this prepared her for a non-existent job in a Thai school.

Can anyone shed light on this practice, other than the college raking in a daily rate for slave workers?
