I'm visiting the island at end of october and looking for suitable accomodation for a family, we're looking for a quiet place to relax away from the crowds, as this is our final stop before flying home.

looking to pay about 1500baht per room per night

Last year the wife and I stayed at Rung Arun Resort in Bantai (Koh Pha-Ngan) for three lovely months. The resort is quiet (no roads nearby), central to the whole island, has its own spacious clean beach (i.e., they have not built bungalows to the edge of the water), swimming pool, friendly family-oriented staff, and is run by a respected local school teacher couple.

See directions here.

Heaven on earth - I would strongly recommend Rung Arun Resort.

Please say hello from me when you get there. :o

i would recommend "smile house", bo phut beach , samui.

well equipped bungalows with cable tv and good bathrooms , 2 pools , good restaurant and just 30 seconds walk from bophut fishermans village , with its low key bars and restaurants.

its quite a picturesque place to stay , definately no crowds , with none of the noise or hassles of chaweng.

1517b/night including buffet breakfast , service charge and all taxes.

2 bed bungalows are 2800 night incl.

If you come to Koh Pha Ngan, I think Milky Bay Resort nr Ban Tai is an excellent choice, they have fantastic amenities including pool tables, table tennis, gym, sauna, massage, hairdressers, beach volley ball, swimming pool, excellent restaurant, fabulous garden, and FRIENDLY STAFF

Not sure of the prices but I think 1500baht may get you an air con room.

Good luck
