Ubon Hash - Next 'Run' - River Mun West - Saturday 6th June 3:30 at N-joy or 4:00pm at run site

The June 'run' takes place on the first Saturday of June, which is next Saturday, 6th June. Meet up at N-Joy Bar before 3.30pm or at the run site at 4:00pm. The run is based around yet another interesting village on the banks of the River Mun west of Ubon.

Pretty warm this week (who knows what next week brings) so quite a bit of the run will be in shade. If you want to go direct to the run site please e-mail to get my mobile phone number (and directions if the attached map is insufficient) - sometimes we are forced to set off late from N-Joy due to late-arrivals there. Also if we were to get an early rainy season late pm mega-downpour we might decide to bar hop around town instead!

Usual format. Beer stop, circle at the run site, more beers after (maybe some snacks back at N-Joy, depending on numbers) and beyond for those wishing to make an evening of it! All welcome young/old; male/female/3rds sex pensioners/kids newbies/returnees

CAUTION - driving to N-Joy bar from the ring road at Central Plaza is no longer possible due to a long term reconstruction of the bridge over the Mun diversion.

Hashing is social running and there have been hash clubs all over the world since its 1930s origins in Kuala Lumpur. The running bit is not taken seriously and beer is drunk to oil the social side. Ubon Hash, in line with the Ubon environment is laid back and only a few experienced hashers and wanabee enthusiasts put in a few spurts of running. The rest walk. Non-running social members who like to drink beer rather than take any exercise are welcome provided they pay the hash fee and don't drink all the beer while the rest of us are out on trail!

A trail is laid, typically in white powder like flower/chalk and the pack has to find the trail, which keeps the front runners busy while the walkers catch up. After the run the beer ice-boxes are opened and the socialising begins. We usually go back for some more beer and maybe some food around town in the early evening, and some more beer later in the evening, but that is entirely optional on your part!

Don't be a stay at home wuss - get out there with us and discover the sides of Ubon you would not normally uncover. It's dead cheap (100B) for your first run and inexpensive (250B) thereafter; even cheaper for Thais and under-17's - and that includes free beer after, and often during, the run
