Organizer to spend 200 million baht on 32nd Motor Expo

BANGKOK, 4 June 2015, (NNT) - Inter-Media Consultant Company Limited, organizer of the 32nd Motor Expo, revealed this year’s event will be held from December 2 - 13 at Impact Arena, Muang Thong Thani.

Mr. Kwanchai Papatpong, President of Inter-Media Consultant Co. Ltd., said the fair’s budget is estimated between 180 and 200 million baht. He added that at least 40 auto manufacturers would participate in the fair. Mr. Kwanchai speculated the event would attract at least 1.55 million auto enthusiasts, sell at least 50,000 vehicles, and generate at least 50 billion baht.

Nissan Motor (Thailand) Co. Ltd. stated that the local auto industry is currently a highly competitive market, as sales campaigns are constantly being pushed to attract consumers with limited purchasing power.

However, the company expected more cars will be sold before the year end, due to the new excise tax policy that will be implemented at the beginning of 2016. The tax would ultimately increase the price of automobiles. Nissan forecast that 800,000 - 850,000 vehicles will be sold this year.
