To answer your question; no, you weren't lucky, you were smart.

You did some research, found out what was required and showed the relevent criteria were met. Result? Visa issued with no problems.

although another way of looking at it is that you got what you were entitled to , and it took them 3 weeks to give it to you . Not so amazing when you look at it like that.

I have previously contacted both of you by PM asking that one refrains from rising to the other's bait, as it is accepted that the two of you will never see eye-to-eye. I accept that one individual's posts may not be intended to get the rise out of the other, but, bearing in mind your mutual online antagonism, such a consequence is inevitable. Indeed, you both independently confirmed to me that you would continue to respond should the other espouse their views. This is having a detrimental effect on this particular sub-forum, as a number of threads simply degenerate into the GU22/atlastaname ad hominem show.

I am therefore publicly requesting that, upon pain of suspension, the two of you leave each other alone.

It is getting a tad tiresome for the rest of us, this bickering, between you both. It is a shame really, as you both have very much to offer in the way of advise and experience to those who seek it. But when you lock horns, the thread goes of at a tangent.

One day, i hope you meet each other, you'd probably find you get on famously. In the mean time though, please give the rest of us a break, eh chaps

I have to agree with Mr Boj, several occasions before people have requested that certains threads are off topic and certainly diluted from either giving the OP credible advice, as the thread degenerates into a rock-throwing contest.

I personally feel this is the most emotive sub-forum on the whole board and obviously creates a sharp feeling of either joy or deep despair, which is exactly the reason too keep it on topic instead of using it as a personal vendetta.

You both have a lot to give and offer, for the life of me I cannot understand why you have to rain on other peoples parade.

I suggested a thread all of our own for our personal insight, choices and beliefs to be related and discussed, this worked for a while and was beneficial in its time.

As I said you have a lot to offer and people, including me are grateful for the advice you have taken the time to post, at a particular traumatic time. Long may it continue in the right vein.

I and others have a lot of respect for your advice and help.

But you tell me, is it better to build or destroy, help or disparage?

I understand your point of view but it has been stated many other times.

Perhaps it is better to start new threads than to deviate from original posts which are then diluted and are no help to the very people you were originally trying to help.
