How To Permanently Stop Thee Updates Popping Up?

Featured Replies

Hello and Sawasdee khrap,

This "problem" exists already a few months, but there's always something else that keeps me busy. I've updated my MS office 2010 to 2013 on my notebook.

It always wants to do 24 updates for 2010, but I don't have anymore 2010 on it. I believe that they're some leftovers somewhere in the registry, perhaps?

What would be the easiest way to red rid of this annoying problem, as whenever I shut it down, it's trying to install these updates.

Any ideas are wanted and deeply appreciated. Thanks a lot for your time and consideration.

What I would try is to download and install Iobit Uninstall (just Google it) and see if you can run it for MS office 2010. When it asks you if you want it to do a powerful scan, click yes and it will clean all remnants from the registry. Its worth a go anyway.

Get rid of MS Office and install LibreOffice. LibreOffice can open any MS document. Been using alternatives to MS for12 years now, no problems yet.

Are you running a Windows OS? If you are, do you have Windows UPdate set to install updates for Windows and other Microsoft products?

Open Windows Update and see what updates are ready to install. HIDE the updates you do not want to install. This procedure for hiding the updates could be slightly different in appearance depending on which version (and IF) of Windows OS is running.
