Statistics For Guest Arrivals At Hotels In Phuket, Phang Nga And Krabi Show Good Increases.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand’s latest figures for guest arrivals at accommodation establishments in the 3 provinces for the January to June 2006 indicate good increases in the number of tourists.

According to the report sent to Andaman News;

in Phuket, Thais of course were the most numerous at 578,359, up from 384,955 in 2005 after the tsunami. Among foreign nationalities, Koreans were top at 131,662 .Very close behind were Swedes at 131,544. Third were the British at about 99,000; fourth were Germans at 97,000 Fifth were the Chinese at 91,000. They were followed by Australians, Malaysians, Russians, Singaporeans, Japanese, Americans and Swiss all above 40,000 people and showing increases from last year. The total of all nationalities was 1.88 million up from 787,000 or a healthy increase of 139%.

In Phang Nga, there were 76,970 Thais, slightly less than last year, next were Germans at 14,813 up from only 760 last year, then Swedes at 13,512 up from only 197, with the remainder less than 10,000 each. In total about 160,000 guests registered, up from 82,000 or a reasonable 94% increase.

In Krabi there were over 220,000 Thais, up from 20,000 last year, then 55,000 Swedes up from 19000. In total 523000 came, up from 314,000 or a respectable increase of 66%.

Waite a min you do Radio too?? i didn't know that and you didn't mention that at this months's IBAP meeting. I'll tune my radio in to you next Friday now that i know you're on. :o

The program is on most weekdays, Monday to Fridays, not just Fridays. (The news above is quoted from the last Friday's program.)

But yes we forgot to mention at IBAP meeting on TV programs that our simultaneous audio track is usually on the radio as well between 8.30-9am weekdays. (Days, times and frequencies sometimes change due to other factors.)
