Wonder if any of the English Batsmen will make 137? if any do they will certainly deserve a good cheer from the crowd, the weather here in Brum pretty abysmal today I hope it will be better tomorrow...

Oh dear

What a terrible effort or should I say lack of effort by the boys.

I'm not sure what was worse, our batting or our bowling.

A sad indictment when a 37 year old who was even doubtful to play,

was the only guy to show any balls let alone technique.

A long way to go, but unless weather interupts, this test looks like it's gone already.

England need to push on today and post a decent score.

The game is in our hands at this time the only problem could be the weather, there is a risk of showers throughout the day albeit minimal.

Cant for the life of me c why finn aint a regular starter. Disapointing from the aussies. Not quite out of reach 4 them but by lunch. I.reckon we'll know if it is or not.

Clarke must be regretting his decision to bat.

Showers forecast for the day, damp conditions perfect for swing bowling and the opposition has probably the best swing bowler in the world.

Jimmy proved it with 6 for 47, his fourth best performance. It's his birthday today, and in the 8 tests he has played on his birthday he has taken 42 wickets at an average of 19.09.

But hindsight is a wonderful thing, and all the pundits I have heard or read said they would have batted as well. Rogers played for the conditions; cautious, only play balls you have to, and stuck around to make a decent score. If only a couple of the other Aussie batsmen had followed his example then the story would be very different.

For England, Lyth surely has to go. He started well, but then went for a wide ball he should have left, as he had done many times before.

Cook very unlucky, and Bell had a stupid rush of blood to the head.

Lyon; 2-0-3-2!

Bugger; Bairstow c Nevill b Johnson 5 (Eng 142-4). Johnson joins the 300 club.

While I was typing that; Stokes c Nevill b Johnson 0 (Eng 142-5)

One ball left in Johnson's first over; Buttler survives it.

Meanwhile, Root milking Hazlewood at the other end

Australia batting again before lunch?

Unbelievable!!!

Buttler given out lbw to Lyon for 9.

6 wickets down with 2 reviews remaining; but he doesn't review.

If he had, the decision would have been overturned as the ball was going over the top!

Not even close enough for umpire's call, definitely missing.

Lyon now 3-1-3-3!

Disappointing from England to say the least,my 3G connection at the SIL in Ayutthaya has dulled the pain somewhat as my viewing is interrupted periodically.

Come on England tail end push on <deleted>.

No.

England 221 for 7 at lunch; 85 ahead.

But Australia's morning, I reckon.

Does anybody have a good working link for watching the ashes via streaming???? Please...pretty please...all my old links for cricket dont work anymore

Thanks.

Someone tell Joss Buttler how to use the revision system.

Anyway a useful first innings lead.

Heavy roller in use. Sun is shinning.

A great game so far.

England all out for 281.

Moeen (59) and Broad (31) pulling the advantage back to England after lunch.

England lead by 145, and if they can get two or three wickets before Australia have wiped that deficit out then the game is theirs to win or lose.

Have to have England in the box seat of course.

Rodgers, Warner and Smith are there to win it or lose it for Australia.

Be good to see Warner going back to his aggressive former self

Massive wicket that Smith dismissal. I don't see this match being the simple England win that many are predicting. Would only take a couple of batsmen to stay with Warner and the Aussies could post a decent lead.

How many would England be happy chasing in their 2 nd innings ?

Test could be over in 2 days... blink.pngsad.png

How can Warner bat so well and score so quickly and the rest of the Australian team fail so miserably?

I'm enjoying this Test in particular! tongue.png

if Jimmy's injury is as bad as they suspect then i would have to say the Aussies have to be very strong favorites indeed for the next test.

may even be tempted to put a little wager down.

the 4th test is in a weeks time in Nottingham at Trent bridge, if i'm not mistaken.

Same as the first innings with Rogers.

Bottom line is they're crap.

To be honest, I reckon Root and Smith are the only elite batsmen in the series.

Rogers is the best of the rest followed by Warner and Cook.

Both sides haven't got anywhere near a decent top to middle order.

We really needed someone to help out MJ when he ripped 2 out in one over.

Both Starc and hazelwood were again really disappointing.

There's a little bit to it.

Steven Finn's spell was, well something he will never repeat again like that.(awesome)

If the aussies could manage another 50 and get to seventy.

There maybe a few nervous batsmen in the last innings.

Reality is probably England by 5 wickets,we will see.
