Question - Completing TM8.

Featured Replies

I'll be renewing my retirement extension next month and want to apply for a re-entry permit at the same time.

Having downloaded the TM8 form, I have a couple of questions.

1. The form starts of with my personal details, name, nationality, DOB then requests Changwat (City) and Country.

Underneath it then asks for my present address in Thailand.

So is the request for changwat and Country details, relate to my home Country or Thailand?

Seems an odd request as I complete my Thai address directly underneath.

2. Leaving and re-entering dates.

I'm planning a trip back to the UK around April/ May next year, but don't know the precise dates yet.

Can I just put estimated dates?

1. That changwat and country is for your place of birth. It follows the date, month and year of birth.

2. Many offices allow you to leave the leaving and re-entering dates blank. If not you can put any date you want to there as long as your re-entry date is not after your extension ends.

That makes sense Joe, but why not state 'City' as apposed to 'changwat' if it's in reference to your home state.

Leaving it blank would probably be my best option. An afterthought was that if I got a multi re-entry permit the form only allows for the details of one planned exit/entry to be completed anyhow.

Some of these Immigration forms leave a lot to the imagination.

Changwat is province which equates to state not city.

In the UK we don't have 'states' as in the USA.

I suppose it would be 'County' which is the equivalent of a province.

My mate is completing a TM 8 as well.

Should be interesting.

Nationality.................British

DOB..........................??????

changwat..................Kolkata

Country.....................India.

The mind boggles.

Other than my Passport, are copies of any other documents required.

TM6 departure card. Passport copies need to include your extension stamp at the least and possibly visa and entry stamp.

Same documents as for a 90 day report should do then Joe.

Copy of Passport Home Page.

Copy of Extension.

Copy of last Entry Stamp.

Copy of TM6.

All that is needed to do my 90 reports is the TM47 form and passport. That is all my wife had when she did mine last week.

Your fortunate Joe.

Amnat still request the copies to go along with the TM47.
