Where to purchase 220-240 V AC - 110V AC step-down transformer?

Featured Replies

does anyone know if there are some half-decent step-down transformers for sale around here? i know where to buy a good quality 1.5 to 3kVA converter in Bangkok but for the moment i just want to test some nice 110-120 V lamps i bought that run max. 100 watt bulbs and i don't need anything quite that fancy.

Amorn used to have some but they were total Chinese junk.

thanks

If it's just lamps, run 2 in series off the 220V, both bulbs must be the same wattage.

Any reason you don't want to fit 220V bulbs?

"I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

Try Home Pro I've seen some there - the solid kind in incrimental specs/wattage.....

Only seen Amorn selling the basic step down at around 100 or 150VA. IT is all Chinese I am afraid!

sorry i didn't explain further. they are nice photography lamps that run GE Photoflood bulbs 250 Watts, 115-125V. the lamps say "WWP 660W 250V" and have a "UL tested" sticker on them. porcelain or ceramic socket. Made in China about 15 years ago. i bought them from an American photographer who assured me they are 110 volt lamps.

Order it through Amazon and send to a friend's address.....

I went with Bright 500W but numerous W selections and it functions both as a step down/up unit for your return trip.......

Reasonably priced...
