Wacky personal superstitions -- do you have any and what are they?

For a relatively poor country I there are plenty of coins on the ground. I find alot of small change on the ground, on shoulders of roads, etc., for some reason, maybe, oh Nevermind. In the US only pennies seem to fall.

Anyway I have this thing where I only pocket the ones found "heads up" the others I pass on to the next guy.

OK, I think we're solidly over the top now.

4 crazy.gif for the knocks and 5crazy.gif for the heads up coins.

I didn't think it would ever come to this but here it is.

In the last year or so I started adding SARDINES to my diet.

Something came into my head that I should only have ONE CAN of sardines in the house at any time.

So the superstition is against having more than one can of SARDINES in the house.

Only sardines.

For other foods and supplies that I know I will need, my habit is very much the opposite ... always having extras waiting (for non-perishables of course).

So I think it's related my general habit which is a bit hoardy ... but SARDINES .. no, no, no!

Yes it's crazy.
Sometimes a SARDINE is only a SARDINE.

So in my cupboard I might have as many as 10 cans of tuna stored (taking months to consume) but next to the tuna, only one can of sardines, and sometimes zero when I eat the one.

An old g/f of also picked up coins off the ground and I asked why.....She said her Mama taught her if she didn't pick the coins up she'd never receive the blessings from them.....

These Malaysian ones I buy here really don't taste nice unless I douse them with lots of lime and chilies.

I mainly eat them for the health benefits.

Last year, we were fast asleep, at 0600 am, when we heard our front gate slide open. All of a sudden, I heard this woman screaming and laughing like a lunatic. We looked out the window, and saw this woman (whom we knew, as a neighbor) dancing and clapping her hands in ectasy. When I asked my wife what she was saying....I couldn't believe it. My wife ran outside and started laughing, and chattering away with this woman. On the ground, were two piles of dog crap...which sort of snaked into a perfect 2 digit "69". Turns out that this was a sign that the neighbor was searching for....a lucky lotto number, courtesy of my dog..."Scrappy Cocoa". Scrappy looked fairly bemused at the whole spectacle, but has since not shat any other combination of digits, except the lucky "69".
