Network Driver - download link.

Featured Replies

Hi,

I need to download a network driver for my Toshiba Satellite L745 Notebook Computer (P/N: PSK14L-01201, S/N: XB 199126W); OS: Windows 7.1, 32-bit.

But the websites I visited just refuse to open the required link(s), it all seems to be a large scale lip-service; The Toshiba service is in this regard especially disapointing!

The nearest computer shop is 3 hrs away... Can anybody offer a solution to this dilemma?

TIA.

Do you need the ethernet (wired) or the wireless nic driver?

I got the Win 7 32 bit Ethernet driver HERE.

And the wireless driver HERE.

There is an alternative wireless driver HERE

And you can read the page HERE.

Note: Driver downloads often report as having virus-like qualities but they aren't.

Many thanks for prompt response.

Well, I suppose I need both the Ethernet and the Wireless driver.

At home I use the Ethernet (Network) cable connection and when away I use Wireless.

I am right know in the progress re-installing Win7.1 to the laptop. So, your download links are a Godsent - thanks again.

Better get busy downloading the drivers.

The cause of the trouble:

I can only confirm that the downloads from the first link are down (timeout).

I also tried it with a VPN to no avail.

I guess that all the sites link to fs2.pc.toshiba-asia.com...

AND: this server is (currently) down.

Just checked it.

Could you open Device Manager and identify what hardware you have and probably which one is not working properly.

Like shown in this instruction:

http://www.howtogeek.com/167094/how-to-use-the-windows-device-manager-for-troubleshooting/

Due to what I have seen you would need an Atheros driver for your wireless adapter.

According to Network Manager:

Not connected - No connections are available.

And, The Windows Network Diagnostics "Troubleshooting couldn't identify the problem"

The Device Manager - Other devices

Ethernet Controller

Network Controller

PCI Simple Communications Controller

SM Bus Controller

Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller

Unknown device

All 6 item show a yellow icon (lock??)

According to (left-click) Properties - Device status

"The drivers for this device are not installed (Code 28)"

(this status applies to all 6 items)

Processors

Intel® Core i5-2430M CPU @ 2.40GHz

(displayed 4 times)

I am unsure about Atheros driver...

The yellow icon means that the device is not working properly, mostly due to wrong or no driver installed.

Its a mess,

This 745 is not known worldwide (searched through misc. Toshiba sites).

But there are models 740 and 750.

Both seem to need this Atheros driver (or Realtek?).

Same for 740 and 750, so a good chance it will work for your 745 also.

The download links from this Toshiba India website DO work.

For 740 and 750:

http://drivers.toshiba-india.com/drivers.aspx?product=Laptop&series=Satellite&model=L740&cat=Wireless%20LAN&os=Windows%207%2032%20Bit

http://drivers.toshiba-india.com/drivers.aspx?product=Laptop&series=Satellite&model=L750&cat=Wireless%20LAN&os=Windows%207%2032%20Bit

(don't be puzzled by the duplicate entries with different dates on the left, its a search result that shows some disorder on the server)

My guess, you need the:

04 Jul 2011 Wireless LAN Atheros Wireless LAN Driver 9.2.0.206.0.s3264 wCAT Windows 7 32 Bit 27,192KB

As things can't get worse, just try it.

If not try the Realtek driver.

As soon as you have WLAN(WiFi) working (internet connection), you can bootstrap through the other missing drivers by searching them online through Device Manager (Windows Update).

Yes, it's a pain! There is absolutely no indication as to why the download links on https://pc.toshiba-asia.com/sg/support/drivers are not working.

Anyway, thanks for your efforts finding the Toshiba India website - I'll give it a go sometimes tomorrow.

As said, the server (fs2.pc.toshiba-asia.com) where the download links point to is down.

If you do it tommorow try the original link again.

Maybe its back up again.

My apologies. I downloaded the drivers from the USA with no problem. I don't know why the links didn't work in LOS.

Cheers
