International calls from Thailand

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if there was an alternative to the various apps for Mobile phones like WhatsApp, Skype, Viper and so on.

I have tried all of them but when calling back in US, UK, and Italy I found that not all the time the call quality is up to the standards. Ideally I would like to know if there is a Thai calling card or even better a SIM card option specialised for international calls.

You prefer to do the good old phone call ? tongue.png

Not convinced by the modern times ? tongue.png

(that was irony)

That are zillions of threads here about cheap phone calls from Thailand.

You don't need a special SIM to get good rates in the single digit Baht/min range.

You just need the "right" prefix, like 009.

Call USA: 009 1 ... (2.5 Baht/min)

Call UK: 009 44 ...

...

Many other prefixes available, so it would help if you state what mobile provider you want to use (AIS, DTAC, True?).

@khunbenq I am using dtac at the moment, but I don't mind trying any other carrier as I have a dual SIM mobile phone.
