thailand vs malaysia.

THAILAND

No drinking on the train

No drinking near the schools.

All the good bars have closed in nong khai and pattaya.

Military government.

Prices are creeping up from Guesthouse prices too beer prices.

Bangkok people are snobby and are hate farangs and rather scowl than smile.

Internet porn is mostly banned.

MALAYSIA

Honestly I'm in malaysia and there's more freedom in a Muslim country than Thailand.

Example I can drink on the train no problem.

I can watch a porno without the site been blocked.

People in kl are way more friendlier than Bangkok these days and are interested in foreigners.

They don't do the smelly foreigner hand gesture when you walk past like Bangkok.

Beers are about the same pace from the bottle shop.

Smelly hand gesture.......hint?

So you like porn and drinking and drinking on public transportation....What about the law that says no Malay has to wait in any line and they are served first.

Porn sites arent blocked? Geez Im doing something wrong as i have to use a proxy. Its a pain.

People are friendlier and english is widely spoken.

But, If you think KL is cheaper then you are dreaming. Its a lot cheaper to live than most western countries and for the same wage as i got in australia my quality of life is so much better.

But as cheap as Thailand? Not a chance.

and Malaysia is very much more expensive.

not for exotic foods.

1 roti and 2 veggies is only 40 baht in kl.

and beers are 33 baht.

big kingfishers are 50 baht .

and a cheap room in 150 baht.

1 ringit=10 baht

What about accommodation, transport, or night life? Oh wait!

Drinking on the train and porn....you've set the bar pretty low, I'll give you that much.

If this is all it takes to get rid of low quality expats, I'm all for Thailand prohibiting drinking on trains and internet porn. Malaysia, here they come!

I'm in my 8th year in Kuala Lumpur, and I haven't a clue where OP is buying his beer for RM 3. RM 15 rooms? Maybe in dingey Chow Kit, notorious for crime, prostitution and drugs. Malaysia is a fine country, Malays (ethnic, Chinese and Indian) are friendly and welcoming, English is widely spoken and prices for most things are reasonable. Nightlife however is expensive and the best you'll find on a glass of Carlsburg will be RM 10-12. And drinking on the train? No way.

I think Malaysia is cheaper than a lot of people think it is but it's not quite Thailand cheap

You can get 3 pints for 45 RM still, about 150 baht a pint ... that's the price in some pubs in BKK, I guess

Street food isn't too far away from BKK, I wouldn't call Malaysia 'expensive' but Thailand is cheaper though but for people not been in Malaysia recently it may well be cheaper than you think or remember even

I went to Kelana Jaya stadium for the game, but it was a one-sided drubbing. Malaysia will be playing with the big boys next season, in Asian Division One, while Thailand were relegated to play their rugby next season with the Division Thrr minnows.

Last time they met before that was a cracker, with Thailand deserved winners over a better team, thanks to an opportunistic try and some heroic goal line defence in the dying minutes - and also I'll-discipline froMalaysia's imported Islanders
