mike111 Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 I'm thinking of visiting Hua Hin. What would be the easiest option departing Jomtien in the morning and possibly coming back in the afternoon/evening? Is there a boat /bus/minivan service? Cheers
minimaxx Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 You could take a bus from Jomtien to BKK (2hours) and from there to HuaHin (4-5 hours). I think a trip back the same day isn't feasible and wouldn't want to it. https://www.belltravelservice.com/pages/PageHome.aspx
inzman Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 The yellow bus from Pattaya nua only takes 5 hours direct.
KhunBENQ Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 (edited) Quite exhausting to come back same day! A roundtrip of about 600 km through some of the busiest routes in Thailand? Realistically you won't make it from sunrise to sundown, not to speak of "morning to afternoon". Just enough time to drink a cup of coffee and then get back. No ferry, just an ever recurring illusion Edited August 9, 2015 by KhunBENQ
maimeephom Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 The last time I travelled to Hua Hin ,the Yellow Bus departed at 18OO -arriving at 2230. Returning from Hua Hin around midnight. You have to prior book for it to stop. TEL 081 0861050 English Speaking.
KittenKong Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 Jomtien-HuaHin-Jomtien in one day is not going to be relaxing. I find 5-6 hours driving in Thailand to be plenty for one day, but I am retired and not in a hurry to get anywhere.
PattayaPhom Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 Minivan Pattaya Tai Soi 10 400 THB. Can take anywhere between 3.45 or 6 hours depending on where they pick up and stop. Yellow bus Pattaya Nua 18.30 approx 5 hours, price about the same but get a sarny and bottle of water. Someone mentioned the other day Kanair have started again from U Tpao- HH but you would need to check that. Taxi about 3,500. Not really a day trip, stopeover better.
KhunBENQ Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 Someone mentioned the other day Kanair have started again from U Tpao- HH but you would need to check that. Not a trace on the KanAir booking site. Would be astonished to have missed that. There are flights to HH from Chiang Mai.
jacksam Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 Is the op crazy. Day trip from patts to hua him. Geeezus. I do it by taxi. Cost 3k. Stay for a week. What's the rush. Takes 4 plus hours
dotpoom Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 You can get a minivan from 3rd Rd (400B)just Google it and you will see their site. On your left walking up towards Sukhumvit, on the corner of Soi 10 or 12 I think.
crab Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 One alternative is to take the airport bus from outside Foodmart, then connect to the Hua Hin airport bus. Still a long trip.
Jonathon Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 I would avoid the minivan and taxi. Too many opportunities on that route for a crazy driver to drive like....crazy.
sirocco Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 hello, Jonathon, if you do not want a van and taxi, there's more than the train (at least 10 hours journey) or the flying carpet, as in the tales of the Arabian Nights.
balo Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 I'm actually planning to drive my car to Hua Hin soon. How many hours would it take ?
sirocco Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 in van, itis approximately 4:30, starting at 8 am.
petermik Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 I'm actually planning to drive my car to Hua Hin soon. How many hours would it take ? I left Pattaya @ 4.45 am today on my way down to Trang -regular trips and times the same-and it took me 3.5 hours to get to Hua Hin so I would allow 4-4.5 hours + if leaving later
