Jomtien to Hua Hin: easiest travel options?

Recommended Posts

I'm thinking of visiting Hua Hin.

What would be the easiest option departing Jomtien in the morning and possibly coming back in the afternoon/evening?

Is there a boat /bus/minivan service?

Cheers

Quite exhausting to come back same day!

A roundtrip of about 600 km through some of the busiest routes in Thailand?

Realistically you won't make it from sunrise to sundown, not to speak of "morning to afternoon".

Just enough time to drink a cup of coffee and then get back.

No ferry, just an ever recurring illusion tongue.png

The last time I travelled to Hua Hin ,the Yellow Bus departed at 18OO -arriving at 2230.

Returning from Hua Hin around midnight. You have to prior book for it to stop.

Jomtien-HuaHin-Jomtien in one day is not going to be relaxing.

I find 5-6 hours driving in Thailand to be plenty for one day, but I am retired and not in a hurry to get anywhere.

Minivan Pattaya Tai Soi 10 400 THB. Can take anywhere between 3.45 or 6 hours depending on where they pick up and stop. Yellow bus Pattaya Nua 18.30 approx 5 hours, price about the same but get a sarny and bottle of water. Someone mentioned the other day Kanair have started again from U Tpao- HH but you would need to check that. Taxi about 3,500. Not really a day trip, stopeover better.

Not a trace on the KanAir booking site.

Would be astonished to have missed that.

There are flights to HH from Chiang Mai.

You can get a minivan from 3rd Rd (400B)just Google it and you will see their site. On your left walking up towards Sukhumvit, on the corner of Soi 10 or 12 I think.

One alternative is to take the airport bus from outside Foodmart, then connect to the Hua Hin airport bus. Still a long trip.

hello, Jonathon,

if you do not want a van and taxi, there's more than the train (at least 10 hours journey) or the flying carpet, as in the tales of the Arabian Nights.

I left Pattaya @ 4.45 am today on my way down to Trang -regular trips and times the same-and it took me 3.5 hours to get to Hua Hin so I would allow 4-4.5 hours + if leaving later wai.gif
