2015 Dental quality in CM please.... Dentures...?

Featured Replies

I'm here in CM and decided it's time to go home with a smile after being a complete chicken for many years.

I've been without teeth... I mean ZERO.... for 10 years.... !!!

I inherited a bad gene and knew it would happen at around 40 with all the guys in my family having same problem, but in that 10 years it's not bothered me and no-one else was ever brave enough to say anything although many people said they didn't realise I have no teeth. I guess that comes down to the structure of my face and a small mouth.

So.... 'why have I never had dentures' ??? ... I guess the quality of dentures of old put me right off.... teeth too big... the prosthetic too large.... so many people with badly fitting dentures that move around when they speak.... bah.gif .... that really put me off and I decided when I did get around to replacing my teeth I'd get implants !!!

However stupid me back in the day when I didn't do research with the ease that one can online thesedays, had no idea that the longer you leave it the less bone you have to implant into as the bone shrinks because it no longer has the supporting bone structure that holds natural teeth in place (Alveolar bone deteriorates because no need for it anymore).... DOH !!! ... learnt that too late... however all is not lost as an x-ray the other day has shown that I can still get a couple of implants in the top and the bottom to allow for an implant assisted over-denture.

Anyway.... history aside.... Now it's time to act.... Dentistry materials and tools and quality of workmanship have all moved forward and design of dentures has moved on a long way and so now I'll go for a standard set of dentures for now to get used to having the space taken up in my mouth again and then if the lower arch doesnt stay put which is apparently the norm ( top one's fit really well these days so I'm told) then I can go for the 2-3 implant assisted overdenture which locks in place onto a bar..... as long as they don't move when I speak... my greatest fear facepalm.gif

So.... anyone here got dentures fitted in Chiang mai and can give an honest appraisal please......??? I've been to Grace which is seemingly regarded as the best in town for certain procedures and I was impressed that they have a specific young lady Prosthodontist who knows her stuff and is very good at explaining all options and speaks great English.

Who else compares please.... ??? Quality of denture build is what I'm chasing

cheers......... biggrin.png
