Is it possible to take a bike/wave moped from Chumpoon to Samui or does it have to be Donsak/Surat. Details of companies and tmetables if need to book much appreciated.

I've seen the odd bike on the Lomprayah but doubt if they were ferang owned.

Have you considered the post office?

Good idea if going to live there but its just for a few days so looks like bus and then rent when in Samui

Thanks for the quick replies....shame they don't have a ferry as for me Surat is just too far, so be car or bus and then rental In Samui...

Travel with your bike by train?

Still a long haul from Surat's train station to the piers 60Km as the crow flys, probably more like 70-80Km and two hours.

Cheers Basil, thats a great idea, will check that out later. 70km is OK, just dont fancy 600-700

If you rode from BKK then you have done it the wrong way... Next time, if there is a next time, train to Chumphon and then ride the rest... Much better roads heading down from Chumphon :)

.....until you get to Samui....not just the roads but the road users too!!

Post office works a treat

Take bike there tell them you want the bike EMS and bubble wrapped they wrap the bike in bubble and cardboard

I sent a PCX HUA HIN to BKK 1200 Baht

Make sure they not leaver the key on and drain battery as they did to me LOL. Apart from that not a scratch
