Family wants CSD to handle Chuwong’s unusual death

BANGKOK: -- Wife and sister of construction billionaire Chuwong Sae Tang died in an unusual van crash on June 26 today sought justice from the Royal Thai Police with request that the Crime Suppression Division (CSD) police take over investigation of the death from metropolitan police.

BMA Top Talent expected to raise youth development in all aspects

BANGKOK, 15 August 2015 (NNT) – The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA)’s Top Talent contest is expected to help encourage youth development in all areas and teach youth to use their free time favourably, the BMA Deputy Permanent-Secretary says.

The BMA Deputy Permanent-Secretary Attaporn Suwattanadeja has presided over the opening ceremony of the BMA Top Talent 2015 contest at the Bangkok Palace Hotel, Bangkok.

He has said that this project provides a good opportunity for students to improve their skills and express their abilities. The project teaches youth to have patience in their training, which conforms to the BMA’s objective to support the youth to use their free time favourably to improve their skills, creativity, EQ, and IQ.

The BMA Top Talent 2015 contest comprises IQ contests in various subjects such as Mathematics, English, Sciences, Computer Technology, and Reading . The EQ contests includes competitions on Art and Design, Debate, Thai Music, along with individual and group skill demonstrations.

About 1,800 students in Bangkok have applied to participate in this contest, while the awarding ceremony will take place on 23 August 2015 at Chamchuri Square in Bangkok, from 1pm onwards.

Italy: At least 40 migrants dead at sea, 320 others rescued

ROME (AP) — At least 40 migrants died Saturday in the hold of an overcrowded smuggling boat in the Mediterranean Sea north of Libya, apparently killed by fuel fumes, and some 320 others aboard were saved by the Italian navy, the rescue ship's commander said.
