Anybody who have experience with building there own speakers, comparable with first class stuff?

I searching for shops where I can buy speaker enclosures, or ready to made kits, and speaker units/filters.

Made it more than once by myself in Europe.

So far I can't find a single store,

Anybody?

Your reply will be highly appreciated.

I've never seen home-stye empty boxes/kits here. Plenty of that stuff in the pro/tour audio scene though, but too ugly for in your house ;)

There is an active DIY audio scene in Thailand but all the forums are in Thai. I suspect if you posted in English you'd get a response. If you can find some of the Malaysian/Singapore/Hong Kong/Taiwan forums you could probably post in English.

Web site still there not sure about the company http://www.leda.com.sg/

or http://hktubeaudio.homestead.com/

I'm not sure if sourcing the components from an ASEAN country will avoid import duty. Shipping shouldn't be prohibative. Cabinets could easily be made in Thailand.

I've definitely seen some shops making their own speaker cabinets but I just came across them in random places. I've seen on on Sirnakarin, one in Talad Rot Fai next to Seacon Square I'm sure. You'll need some good drivers, and those you need to search out are Scanspeak, Morel, Eton Hex. Available from car audio shops.

Thank you Carl, for your reply.

About Srinakarin, do you mean in the big Mall?

I can't imagine there will be a shop who's have cabinets to assemble by yourself.

Anyway, if you know more details, please let me know.

I living in the province Petchaburi but if you know a shop, I'll drive to take a look.

I'm not worry about the drivers, they are easy to order in Europe.

Again, thank you for your message.

Peter

I picked up cabinets, speakers, tweeters, crossovers etc near Chinatown in Bangkok quite a few years back. They have shops there that can supply you with everything you need.

Peter the area is called Khong Thom Market in Chinatown. Just google it and you can get a map. Most taxi driver know of the market.

Hi Pieeyed,

Khlong Tong market, yes I can find on Google, thank you.

But it says it is a night market on saturdaynights.

However I have to examine it by myself.

Thanks.

In the Khong Thom area there are hundreds of shops selling stereo equipment from early morning until late at night. If you have ever been to Chinatown they have everything there. You just need to find the right area. I go down there quite often just to wander around to look at what might be a good deal.
