Hi all, what is the usual cost of a taxi to Pattaya from swampy, and where exactly would I go to get one?

about 1400 baht and that should include tolls. fastest way to get taxi is to go to 4th floor and catch taxi dropping off people.

Thanks, I'd heard that if you go to the basement floor there is a flat fee of 1050 without tollways but thought it was a bit more than that.

@Deserted: Did you mean 1500? It's been a couple years since I took a taxi, but that was the fixed price from BKK to Pattaya at the basement floor taxi queue. They had a laminated sign with B1500 and the gal at the desk would (usually) write it on the form she handed me.

If your schedule permits it, I say take bell bus and save 1000 baht. I think the bus is much safer than the average taxi driver. the Bell bus arrives in Pattaya and they provide minibus service to your hotel.

PT Taxi charges 1000 THB and that includes the tolls.

Yeah but that bus only stops along sukhumvit in Pattaya, across from Pattaya Klang for sure, then it goes down to Jomtien. Neither is a horrible thing as there will be a baht bus or two and some moto taxis waiting. They know the bus schedule. As they say in Thailand: up to you

I have done it several times when I used to arrive even later than that, often 130 am. But I must warn you that you might be surprised as the driver pulls off the road to some little place and stops and gets gas. Some only put gas in when they have customer! That was a bit disconcerting each time it happened. On some of my trips I was concerned about getting shanghai'd. But nothing ever happened. In retrospect, it was pretty cool flying 1/2 way around the world, taking a taxi at 0200, and a short time later having a drink in an outside bar with a lovely young lady.
