For prescription lens?

I was in this same optician's recently, as my glasses frame was broken. They fixed it in less than 10 minutes and wouldn't take any money for it.

Yes, I'm impressed and will go back there.

Been discussed many times and I think the overwhelming vote is for Vision Centre. They replaced my lenses and the eye test for prescription was the most

comprehensive I have ever had.The only negative is that the staff are not fluent in English but the owner is.

Yes, you can buy them in any shopping mall.

If your eyes have different prescription, the guy in the shop will mix the lens from two different pairs together (same frames).

The off the shelf lens are graded in 0.25 steps.

he used 'off the shelf lens.

You could have got the same in KSK for around 200bht.

Where should I go to get eye glass?

Zenni Optical online for complex lens (I have astigmatism plus vari-focal).

Same prescription 8,000bht in Vision Center, 3,500bht from Zenni.

Bought from both sources earlier this year.

The cheaper ones from Zenni are much better quality than the expensive ones from Vision Center.

All lenses are "off the shelf"! They are then cut/ground to fit the frame.

It would be only on very rare occasions that a prescription was so complex that lenses had to be individually manufactured.

In terms of performance one should always seek to purchase the "best" lens that an individuals budget permits.

A cheap pair of lens will never be of the same quality as Brand name products

One thing that hasn't been mentioned in the ongoing Zenni debate is that even if you are willing to pay more locally, there is one more problem. I would say about 90%+ of the frames they stock are for persons with a hat-size smaller than 7 1/4. Charoen was having a big sale last month, and I agreed to look. They were going to make me a pair for 400 THB, after about a 90% discount. They were very nice, good lookers, one of them fixed a small item on my old p[air of Zennis for free, but when it came down to it, they just didn't have my size. After you order a few times from Zenni, you are familiar with nose bridge, temple length, frame height and width...all in MM, and they just didn't have what I know I need.
