Over the last month have almost got used to the below MERS check at entry door to my local hospital. But today before getting that far cars delivering patients were being subject to Security bomb checks with below vehicle mirror and trunk exams. Is this Bangkok or Beirut?

Given the state of the modern world you should be pleased that some take the issue of security seriously.

You are right. There are no MERS checks at Bangkok Hospital Pattaya any longer. Old subject. And I remember after 9-11 going to the hotels and office buildings in San Francisco that they would check my trunk and look under the cars with mirrors before I was allowed into the underground garages. I never once thought of Beirut.

I lived in Beirut for six months under total curfew so tend to use it as a point of reference. Yes bomb check is minor - but not a pleasant experience when probably already feeling ill and visiting emergency room of a hospital. It seems the word was out yesterday to appear pro-active from other news reports.

Point of post was to alert others that it was taking place so if they found themselves facing same they would not panic that there was a specific issue at there hospital which they might want to make a U-turn to avoid.

Given the state of the modern world you should be pleased that some take the issue of security seriously.

I doubt that you can security check everything in a matter to make even a small difference.
