4G siren song

Featured Replies

I had been using truemove 3g on my ipad since last year on a special “porting-over” promotion of 99b per month (can’t beat that). The speed was not fast, but something I could live with. However I “semi-unintentionally” let the deal lapse .Or it could be the promotion expired, it did say good till July 2015 and the lapse or cut-off happened last week. So I eagerly went to truemove store and asked for 4g upgrade. Their current promotion is 199b/month so I figured it was worth it. Anyway, the result was beyond bad, it was worse than the good old 3g! My daily internet news program now takes forever to play and when it does the playing is problematic.

When I went in for the upgrade I had the sim in my Galaxy tablet (the Galaxy can work as a phone while the ipad can’t) so I could see the message from truemove, yes it confirmed the 4g upgrade. The signal on top of the Galaxy tablet shows the “4g” mark – while the ipad still shows 3g even though I have enabled its 4g switch. However no matter whether I use the sim in either tablet, the speed is snail-slow.

What can I do at this point? I figure that if nothing can be done I would just get a new sim and start from scratch at the 3g level so life will go on as before except as 199b/month instead of 99b/month.

Any advice or input will be much appreciated. Thank you all in advance and have a nice day smile.png

Sounds like your 4G coverage is crap. (And it sounds like the ipad doesn't have the right radio for your 4G).

Switch it back to 3G via phone settings when you're in the house.

I'm having a hard time following your narrative.

What is the exact model of your device? I'm not certain your samsung tablet supports 4G/LTE/2100?

Did you get a new 4G/LTE-capable SIM from TrueMove H?

Did you subscribe to a 4G/LTE plan?

I'm on the TrueMove H/199 baht plan (0.5 GB + 1 GB bonus for 1.5 GB, FuP is 128 Kbps.

I had to get a new 4G/LTE SIM as my old TrueMove H SIM did not support LTE.

I am currently on the same plan as you. When i asked to change to 4g sim the staff person did not make the change she only subscribed me to the 4g package and when the sms confirmation came through and showed 4g I thought that I was good. Plus the 4g icon also showed on top of the tablet. Btw my tablet is Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 with 4g lte capabilities.

My other tablet is iPad 4 I believe it also has 4g lte but It did not show 4g when I put in the sim card
