name mistake in visit visa form please help

Hi, so yesterday myself and my girlfriend finally confirmed her form online for a visit visa only to realise afterwards that there is a one letter difference between her name on the online form and on the passport.

I should note that this mistake was made as we typed in her name in English copying her Thai id card which is one letter different from the name onhher passport...

If we explain the situation in a separate cover letter will this still be a problem/// I assume that the visa has to be issued using the same name in her passport. Any comments will be useful as I don't want her to be refused for this and I'm seriously panicking today and feel so stupid. ...

Thanks

Correct it on the hard copy of the application form that she hands in at VFS and mention it in the covering letter, really shouldn't be a problem, but yes the name on the visa and passport should match.

I made exactly this same mistake last year on my wife's (then girlfriend's) visitor application and it was not a problem. She simply changed it when the VFS staff checked her documents and she got the visa with no problem. Like you, however, I was very worried but it was fine. There are a lot of visa agents out there pitching that the smallest mistake can mean rejection but it isn't true.
