Ahmet Komurco, 37, and Altin Cem Salih, 49, were working at Coral Island restaurant without work permits.

PHUKET: -- Two Turkish men were arrested on Koh Hae (Coral Island) by tourist police yesterday (August 27) for working without works permits.

At 4:30pm, a team of tourist police went to Koh Hae and arrested Ahmet Komurco, 37, and Altin Cem Salih, 49, who were working at the Coral Island Restaurant.

The arrest came after tourist police received a tip-off about a group of Turkish men who have been selling tour packages to tourists.

Police arrived at Koh Hae and swooped the beach before heading to the restaurant and demanding to see the work permits and id of its employees. Ahmet and Altin was working behind the counter of the restaurant at the time.

“Both men provided their passports with visas allowing them temporary stay in Thailand. However, they did not have work permits.

“This operation is part of the on going campaign to reduce human trafficking and to stop foreigners living or/and working in Thailand illegally,” said Capt Kritsathorn Uthong of the tourist police.

Ahmet and Altin were taken to Chalong Police Station where they were charges with working in Thailand illegally.

I hate tip offs.......it's in the name you see!

There're several of them working on walking street selling ice creams and shawarma,,, I always wonder

if those guys had a work permit for what they do fro all to see and in front of the police

Turkish food,,,yummy! Give them work permits...

And countless farangs and other flotsam that also need to be found and deported, too.

I lived in Turkey for 10 years and you cant work there either you get the tip off arrested fined deported passport stamped refuse entry bye bye..

A couple of Turkish delights.

Police arrived at Koh Hae and swooped the beach

blink.png 'swooping' is a reserved occupation for swallows, ye swanky, swashbuckling sweetmeat swillers

Give them a yellow shirt and I am sure the DNA will match for the BKK bombing

if DNA not match you will bray same as donkey? why you doing racism here?

DITTO!!!

But why are they smiling ? Say hi to mom in Turkey.

love that they are smiling in the photo.. almost like.. "haha good one guys! only took you 20 years!!! you got us! cheers mate!"

In light of recent events in Bangkok its probably not a good idea to be a Turkish illegal worker...or even a tourist at the moment!

The guy in the blue shirt is wearing a wedding ring.

I wonder if the Thai missus will be "moving" with him. :)

...reduce human trafficking.....what a load of crock.....

good to know the police are clamping down on these vile criminals

Meantime, serious crimes occurring all around and near everywhere while obvious criminals are in the face of the police and the citizens everyday ...but nope, no time for that rather the police have all the time in the world to crack down on 2 guys serving food in a restaurant.

Priorities, priorities .......Officers please...get your priorities figured out.

Cheers
