SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Microsoft’s new Windows 10 system offers more personalization than before, but it also collects more data than people might be used to on PCs, from contacts and appointments to their physical location and even Wi-Fi passwords.

Fire at plastic beads warehouses in Chachoengsao affects residents

CHACHOENGSAO, 02 September 2015, (NNT) - Residents living near the plastic beads warehouse that caught fire in Chachoengsao Province this week, have complained of a stench emanating from the scene of the blaze. They have also implored provincial public health officials to check their physical condition.


The fire was reported early on the morning of August 31st at the plastic beads warehouses of PVJ Plastic Co., Ltd. in Ban Pho District. Although the flames have been put out, the presence of toxic smog can still be felt in the nearby area. The fumes have started having a negative effect on the local people's health. Several have suffered from severed cases of vomiting and skin rashes. The residents are requesting assistance from the local health officials.

Meanwhile, a school located within a kilometer of the fire scene has temporarily shutdown after the smog reached its perimeter and caused illnesses among the staff and students.

Officials are still investigating the cause of the blaze.

NLA in preparation for 36th AIPA in Kuala Lumpur

BANGKOK, 2 September 2015 (NNT) – The National Legislative Assembly continues to prepare its delegation for the upcoming regional gathering of parliamentarians in Kuala Lumpur.


NLA member Air Chief Marshal Chalee Chanruang, who will lead the Thai delegation to attend the 36th ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA), chaired a meeting with representatives from the NLA and related agencies to discuss the content of the information which will be presented at the meeting.

The 36th AIPA is scheduled to take place during September 6 and 10 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where members of parliament of 10 Southeast Asian countries will convene the forum.

At the center of the upcoming meeting is the discussion about the building of awareness and cooperation among countries within the ASEAN Community, with people at the center of everything.

The Thai delegation also plans to join in the discussion about the women’s affairs of AIPA and take part in the deliberation of various issues in order to achieve a joint resolution from all 10 participating countries, which range from trade and industrial cooperation to the protection of rights and the development of the quality of life of the elderly as well as the promotion of tertiary education.

Tsunami drill in Phuket Town this weekend

The mass-evacuation disaster drill will be held in Phuket Town from 8am to midday.

PHUKET: -- Residents and tourists have been urged not to panic if they hear the tsunami-warning evacuation sirens at Saphan Hin this Saturday morning (Sept 5) as disaster officials will be staging a mass evacuation drill in the area.

Govt urges public not to rush to conclusions regarding Ratchaprasong bombing

BANGKOK, 2 September 2015 (NNT) - The Prime Minister’s Office has asked the public not to assume the foreigner arrested near the Thai-Cambodian border is responsible for the Ratchaprasong bombing, until the investigation is complete.

Zaw Lin accused of Koh Tao murders takes the stand as the defense present their case

KOH SAMUI: -- Zaw Lin, one of the two migrant workers charged with the Koh Tao murders took the stand in Koh Samui Provincial court today, 2nd September 2015, a day later than expected. After twelve days of prosecution evidence one further day was required for the testimony of a senior police officer who took the stand on the 1st of September in a hearing that did not close until 1.02am.

PM visits Mae Sot to observe SEZ development

TAK, 2 September 2015 (NNT) - Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha has visited Tak province today to observe the development of Special Economic Zones (SEZs).


The Prime Minister has also been scheduled to preside over the meeting between representatives from both public and private sectors at the Mae Sot Trade Fair. He will then travel to Mae Sot Customs Office, which is adjacent to the Thai-Myanmar Friendship Bridge, to observe their daily operations.

General Prayut is lastly scheduled to visit Mae Sot Estate Cooperative Limited and meet local residents. The premier is expected to return to Bangkok at 18:00 hrs.

Tak Chamber of Commerce President Somsak Kaweerat expressed his gratitude toward the Prime Minister for turning the border area into a zone of economic interest.

Mr. Somsak asked that General Prayut continue to personally follow-up on the development of SEZs, as there are a few issues that require urgent attention. He also suggested that a blueprint of the Mae Sot economic zone be made to attract potential investors.
