KUALA LUMPUR: -- The Malaysia police want Dr Mahathir Mohamad to give a statement over his presence at the Bersih 4 rally over the weekend.

Inspector-General of Police Khalid Abu Bakar said the former prime minister and other politicians, including Selangor chief minister Azmin Ali, would be called in for their statements to be taken soon.

"Of course we are focusing on the organisers and other prominent figures now. We will investigate all who are involved in the Bersih rally,'' he said after attending the 68th Marine Police Day celebration at the Marine Police jetty here Wednesday.

And what if they do not wish to give statements? Surely a person cannot be compelled to give a statement.

That being the case then I eait for Najin to give a full account of the $700 million in his personal account and name the person who 'donated' it

This could get nasty.

With the obscene level of corruption and the past history of Najib (plus his high maintenance wife) in silencing anyone who might threaten his meal ticket even someone of Dr M's standing just might suddenly disappear from the stage. After all, he is getting on...........

Dr M is unlikely to back down and the agenda he has, replace Najib with his own son as PM, will not disappear as long as he remains on the loose.

The events of the last couple of days has really upped the ante.

This is rich--former dictator Mahathir encouraging the public to take to the streets. During his iron-fist rule he threw people in prison by the container load for disagreeing with him (when he wasn't busy racially and culturally denigrating westerners).

In Malaysia, like China, for example, the current government can compell anyone to do anything they want. What--did you think citizens there are protected by the U.S. First and Fourteenth Amendments? Ha ha! No.

A good offense is better than a poor defense. Go after others to take the spotlight off of yourself.
