Ear infection medication for dogs.

Featured Replies

Hi all!

I will be in Chiang Rai for 6 weeks and would like to know if I can purchase medication for my dogs constant ear infections.

In Australia we need a prescription from a Vet for products such as Dexoryl, and the medications are very expensive.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Do you live in Thailand now or are you travelling from Australia to stay in Chiang Rai for 6 weeks with the dog?

Hi

I am traveling for 6 weeks without the dog. She will stay in Oz.

There are a number of veterinary clinics here and also a 24 hour animal hospital.

I'd suggest you start there.

Bring a copy of a prescription with you.

looking at what dexoryl treats is more the same as our boy had, infection caused by ear mites, ticks ect. our vet gave us Q-TICIDE.

contains gentamicin, dexamethasone and ivermectin it cleared in 5days.still clear after 30days.

also i use a cleaning OWA,another we have used before is MY-MINE which is made from natural herbs.

Since you don’t need to see the vet and only need the meds you might try the veterinary place roughly across the street from the Wiang Inn. Language may be a problem there, however. I haven’t been there for awhile so I am just guessing that it is still there.

You say that you need a prescription to from a vet to obtain the dogs medicine. Have you checked with Australian authorities if you can import these drugs when you return to Australia.

Yes, it's there, my neighbour is a regular.

Thank you very much for your answers.

I will try the vet opposite Wiang Inn.

My partner and I are planning on living in Chiang Rai for about 6 months early next year, so will be looking for advice re accommodation.

Thanks again.
