On Sunday evening a police patrol was cruising along Second Road in the search for food and miscreants when they noticed a Thai man on a motorbike ahead of them acting in what they perceived to be a curious manner.

The patrol ordered the man to pull over to the side of the road nearby the Tropicana Hotel and when they looked further they found he was carrying a sword. Although the weapon was sheathed and the man, aged 38, claimed he was taking it to a customer who had asked it to be made, the police took him into the Soi 9 station for further questioning.

Police were clearly impressed by the length of the man’s sword, and he proudly admitted to making the weapon himself. :o The modern-day Arthur was charged with being in possession of a very long, sharp and dangerous implement and his Thai version of Excalibur was impounded.
