Not only is there no Sunday, Sep. 31, but the "link" doesn't work either. :D:o

Hi Axel and Ken , Try this Url :- http://www.tropicalstormrisk.com

The other website is for the Joint Typhoon Warning Centre - which is a restricted site,

but I have using it for the last 7 years.

Axel point me to where you found the date/date anomaly and I will get it corrected.

Nothing serious from my side and did not want to pester you. :o Came out automatically, when I saw the date/day. Probably, I am reading too many documents before signing.

As for Xangsane I do believe after landfall around Danang it will lose power before, if, moving on to Ubon. As a precaution, I would suggest to check for lose parts around the house. Evtl. cover windows. Stock up on food and drinks and perhaps fill up the gasoline in the car.

I am no weather-expert but have been sitting through dozends of typhoons during my previous 17 years in Hong Kong and Taiwan.

It blew a gale here all night last night. Heaps of rain going sideways due to the wind. I have just gone for a walk around to make sure everything is in place. I thought for a while there that my roof would be gone in the morning.

Strong wind and heavy rain all night. Still raining a little, but the wind has gone.

The river which comes from the Cambodian/Thai mountain range, and border the back side of our land has risen 1 meter during the night. Fortunately it causes no ploblems to us. :o

I think (hope) the sun will be back later 2day :D

Bergen,

Started raining here in Surin last night around midnight. Some wind, nothing major though. Still raining here, heavy earlier, but the wind has died down to a mild yet cooling breeze. Good rains for the rice fields. No flooding in my area, although one school here flooded and I heard of a couple more places closing due to crappy drainage.

Raining in Korat all night and still has not stopped. No winds though. I have not been outside so I can't comment on any flooding.

Xangsane wallops north, northeast Thailand

SURIN: -- Typhoon Xangsane was downgraded to the status of 'depression' after moving over Thailand's northeastern province of Surin Monday morning, having caused heavy rain in the northern and northeastern provinces, and forcing rescue teams to clear fallen trees from blocked roads.

The Meteorological Department said that the depression, which packed maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometres per hour, was moving west at 15 km/hour.

Even as it was downgraded, however, the depression carried heavy rain to the lower northern, northeastern, eastern and central regions including Bangkok and its surrounding areas.

Southern regional weather would also be influenced, the statement warned, and the Andaman coastal provinces could face possible flash floods.

Xangsane earlier caused flooding in Phichit province, and rising floodwaters from the Yom River added to the provincial flood woes.

Meteorological Department director general Suparerk Tansriratanawong said he was relieved that the typhoon had weakened and would cause less damage than earlier expected.
