I made my first flight into the new airport three days ago, on the 25th of Sep, as many TG flights were already using Suvarbhumi by then.

Very impressed with the design and layout. The basic look is industrial, filled in with Thai contemporary art.

Only complaint to far is related to the new luggage carts in baggage claim. They have a gaping hole at the back so that if you roll the cart with a smallish or even medium-sized bag placed on the rack, it will fall out onto the floor (or onto your feet) within seconds. I saw several people tripped up this way. In the photo below you can see the backpack I carried and how it's smaller than the gap in the back. Let's hope someone welds retaining bars onto the carts soon.

When I left BKK yesterday it was on another TG flight out of Don Muang, in its final day of operation. I snapped a photo of the old luggage carts for comparison's sake. Note the absence of any retaining bar on the new cart.
