English teaching pays VERY well if you are a fully qualified English teacher.. Where did you find your rather flawed information. Fully qualified English teachers will have a monthly salary of around 90,000 bahts per month. Quite liveable here in Thailand.

I think bakseeda is referring to qualified teachers at International schools and Universities, not TEFL backpackers on gap year holidays working at rural schools for a couple of terms and B30,000 a month.

Thank you ratcatcher...... But I reckon Happy Grumpy is exactly that, and most prob living on a meagre pension from his home country... and has to share it with his Happy Grumpy Thai wife.... maybe I am wrong..!
