Homeless Man Screams In Horror As People Run Away With His Dog
By Stephen Messenger

PARIS: -- Disturbing footage has emerged showing members of a French animal welfare group accosting a homeless man who struggles in vain as they run off with his canine companion.

Activists from Cause Animale Nord, including the group's president Antony Blanchard, instigated the shocking incident, which occurred last week in Paris. The video shows activists snatching the little dog from her owner before handing her off to another member who races off down the street. The homeless man, wailing in desperation, briefly grapples with Blanchard to stop the theft. He then abandons his few possessions to give chase, but is unable to keep up.

Nghi Le Duc, who captured the theft on film, says he was "shocked" by what he witnessed — and he's far from the only one who had that reaction.

Within hours of the footage appearing online, a petition was launched on Change.org calling for Cause Animale Nord to be investigated and for the little dog to be returned to her owner. As of Thursday, more than 85,000 people have added their signatures.

"Nowhere does [the group's mandate] stipulate that it has the right to remove an animal without warning. That's what they did by violently attacking a homeless person to remove his puppy around the Chatelet area of Paris," the petition reads. "To justify this act of extreme violence, they allege that the homeless person is a Roma [male Gypsy] and that the animal was drugged, it hadn't been vaccinated or had ID and was malnourished."

Critics later noted that, within hours of the incident, the group had posted an adoption listing on Facebook for a dog believed to be the one stolen in the video. A caption noted "we took it from a Roma who was begging," but the posting has since been removed.

Who the <deleted> kicks a homeless man and steals his dog - probably the only thing who loves him?

I am almost willing to bet refugees are lot better than these human activists. At least they don't steal a man's dog.

No ifs, ands, or buts, that was disgusting.

Do that to a homeless beggar....and give millions of dollars to assist refugees that have done nothing but chase a good life, after they ruined their own country...

When I started reading this article, I wondered why would anyone take a puppy away from some poor homeless person. Well, the homeless person is a gypsy, using a puppy to get people to feel sorry for him instead of working for a living. These people rescued this puppy from a dirtbag who wants something for nothing. The gypsy's are like a plague in western Europe.

I read the article twice, and then the original article and couldn't find ANYWHERE it said he was "using a puppy to get people to feel sorry for him instead of working for a living" or that this particular person is a " dirtbag who wants something for nothing"

Not long ago someone named Adolf felt the same as you.

Those people have their priorities are twisted up. I can imagine that stealing the only comfort a homeless man has in the world would be like stealing a child from a parent.

The fact that he is a Roma seems to primarily justify the snatching and theft of his dog ?? Bloody mongrels ! Next they will be putting their brown shirts and jack boots back on.

I love dogs and think there is a deep bond of unconditional love between pets and their owners, but with all the tragedy in the world, we're paying attention to this?

I think those suffering in the Middle East (pick your conflict) need to get some pets. Migrants crossing into Europe should travel with cute puppies. That would squarely bring the world on their side.

Propaganda wars should really be focusing on the pet plight to shore up support or demonize an enemy.

In Canada homeless people get government assistance. If a homeless person has a dog they get money to take care of the dog . Our government feels the dog person relationship is good for the mental health of the homeless. what happened here borders on racism and abuse.

Not so much gypsy's in the UK as some people manly druggies who use dogs that they deliberately starve to make people feel sorry and give, nobody gives a "F" about an able bodied adult, but animals and children, at least the do not use children unlike those in Thailand.

The article mentioned an allegation rather than a fact, but you seem to know much more, so please enlighten us. How do you know so much about this particular man and his dog?

Police begin to investigate against this association. a complaint has been filed for theft and willful injury blow. In French law this dog is considered personal property.

Moreover French law recognizes that animals are sentient being.

The leader of this association Mr Anthony Blanchard is a well know xenophobe and racist

The vicitm is not a gipsy like you and Mr Blanchard claim

This is the perfect TVF story--no mention of human rights, no dodgy references to the demise of the King, perfect hits and links.

No worries, mate, it's all peachy.

I agree with everything you say except using the word refugees. A few of them are genuine refugees but many (most???) are simply illegal migrants that do not fulfill the immigration requirements of their chosen countries.

"applied to a person who is outside their home country of citizenship because they have well-founded grounds for fear of persecution because of their race, religion, nationality, membership of a particular social group or political opinion, and is unable to obtain sanctuaryfrom their home country or, owing to such fear, is unwilling to avail themselves of the protection of that country;[1][2] or in the case of not having a nationality and being outside their country of former habitual residence as a result of such event, is unable or, owing to such fear, is unwilling to return to their country of former habitual residence.[1][2] Such a person may be called an "asylum seeker" until considered with the status of "refugee" by the Contracting State[1] where they formally make a claim for sanctuary or right of asylum.[2]"

Please correct me if I am wrong, believe me I am used to it. However I do remember years ago a topic or two being closed because it had no relevance to "life in Thailand"

Mind you I am not saying their is no reason to discuss such issues, but on TV?

Has something changed? It is a good headline, got my attention. whistling.gif

Another tough one for the bleeding hearts.

This time it's animal rights (the Good Guys) battling with homeless gipsies (more Good Guys). Need to work out who is higher up the victimhood scale.

Puts me in mind of the time (also in Paris) when the Islamic football team declined to play a fixture when they found out their opponents came from an exclusively gay football club, at the same time as the gay football club was refusing to play against the Islamist team because they were homophobic. Both teams were awarded full points for a victory.

I would suggest that you are wrong on this call - most liberals I know are relatively objecitive in their analyses and tend to appraise a situation and its nuances, rather than sticking to a rigid dogma. I am sure the right wingnuts would see this in a much more straightforward manner - in their eyes, a case of scum versus scum, as the Pavlovian responses above demonstrate.

These <deleted> activists got nothing better to do?

Maybe they just care about a fellow human being

Not to be arque but do you not think a man with his dog should be left together. Maybe the dog was his only friend in the world. The activists took his only friend. To me that isnot caring about a fellow human being. To me it is selfish imposed values and judging situations without the facts. Acting without responsible fore thought. It is abusing people, they appear to feel is inferior to them. Bully's to the Nth degree Oh I forgot to mention how self righous they are too.the bigots
