Last time I went they had a minibus outside where they could do your photographs. Is it still there ? If not what are the requirements for the photos, size and background colour etc.

Thanks in advance for any info.

Did you know you can use the Banana hostel at the top of Love Lane for a small fee?

They will take your photos and have your passport back for 4pm.

I think I used my normal UK photos, but when I applied for extension in Chiang Mai recently it was too small, so had to get larger ones made. I think it's just a scam and the consulates will use normal photos, but try to download an application form from online and see what size the box is.

16K baht

Very good service too Penang

includes Visa service (you pay cost of visa 300 Malay rigit for Non Imm O )

Visa service guy sorts and collects all required paperwork at hotel on eve of your arrive in Penang

Service goes to consulate for you.next day, You just sleep in and relax at the pool for a day

Then third day pick up at hotel noontime with visa and airport transport.

Visa service guy was very helpful with paperwork and advice Very helpful

You just stay in room hang out or go sight seing all day worry free,

Includes R/T Phuket /Penang (Firefly) Airfare, airport transfers,2 day breakie and 2 nights stay in brand new NEO+ hotel in Penang, Very nice

Yes cost more (but not that much more) than do it all yourself but For Me was well worth the worry free service and nice accommodation

Give it a try

I can recall reports stating the van is still there.

Saying photo size at immigration is a scam is wrong. If you look at TM7 form it states a 4 cm X 6 cm photo is needed.

What you consider a standard UK photo size is probably a 3.5 X 4.5 which is to small. It would be pretty easy to see they are to small when you put them on the frame that is on the TM7 form.

It's the first time my UK passport photos were rejected, but no big deal.

The 200bth for photos on an A4 sheet of paper is pretty scammy, which you might not agree with, but please don't tell me they don't see it as a money cow lol

My photos only cost a little bit of printer ink and part of a sheet of photo paper. Photo paper I used even has the glue on the back for sticking the photo on the form.

Thanks but to be honest the next time I give my passport to an agent will be the first.

i hope you enjoy standing in line at the consulate while i have a swim and breakfast and receive my visa back in time for a 2pm flight.

3 minutes is not a long time to wait. Plus I don't rush to the airport straight from the consulate. Prefer a nice relaxed evening in an air con restaurant with a bottle of wine or two and fly the next morning.

The KBV office in Patong told me today they will only provide that service if I stay at the Banana hotel.

It and the New Banana Boutique hotel (which is pricey) have bad reviews from several sites and no elevator (I can't climb stairs very well)

Staying at the Neo+ who did you use?

Thanks
