billd766 Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 Why is this a surprise, when the courts are puppets of the military rulers. And we know they got the rule because of Suthep's uprising. How about the courts that convicted Thaksin were under the PPP government of Somchai Wongsawat (and NOT under the military), who by a small coincidence is Thaksin's brother in law. Somchai was still in power when bail was granted (as it usually is to rich people) and many people were convinced that Thaksin (and his then wife, Potjaman Na Pombejra) would skip bail and become fugitives, which of course they did. Potjaman did comeback to Thailand and went through the courts but basically came out free, Thaksin is of course still a fugitive from the law.
