Another Thai traffic moment on Phetkasem Rd while coming back to Nonthaburi today after dropping daughter off at her dorm in Nakhon Pathom.

and then i get home only to be called by my car rental agent that they had an 800 baht ticket waiting for me because a CCTV caught me going the wrong way or some s..t like that, i have no idea but if I did something like that you can bet your ass it was because I got cut off by some a.......e or I avoided a bike or some other stupid reasonn can't wait to get back to rural northern florida for a while before I say or do something I will be sorry for.

Hang one second , may be I did not understand so you can explain , but you driving the wrong way but it's Thai to blame ?

Yes best to go back to where you came from;)

Konig I.m just blowing off steam, i don't have the whole story yet but you can bet when I get the date and time my dash cam files will cofirm just what it is they are talking about.

If you want to tell me where I may go what say you and I discuss that out of the forum, with 3800 posts it would seem that you might need some exercise mate

So what was the "Thai traffic moment", your traffic law transgression or a large load? Neither would be worth posting about really particularly as you would clearly have had justification for whatever law you broke and loads much larger than that are transported everyday worldwide.

Maybe you just wanted to Thai bash, eh?

I'm no forensic scientist, but it looks to me like the roof of that boat is now sitting on the road :P

You are blowing off steam for being fined $25 for breaking traffic rules?

And blaming Thai for it?

Blow off steam when you have the facts, before blaming your stupidity on somebody else!

looks like the top of the boat hit the bridge, to be fair over high vehicles hitting bridges is not a Thai only issue, it is a regular occurrence outside one of my properties in the UK too

Be thankful you are not in the UK. Here they would have closed the road in both directions for the whole day whilst they take thousands of pictures and then very slowly clear every last scrap of debris from the roads and I am not joking either. I for one can't wait to get back to driving in Thailand because here it is far worse in every respect

So rather than address the issue you decide to resort to an ad hominem attack on one of your critics? I think you need to review your perception of Thai road users.

because a CCTV caught me going the wrong way or some s..t like that

There is a camera there because lots of people do whatever you did.

Illegal U turn?

Being in the left lane and following the locals across a red light

Exiting/entering the Expressway and crossing the white hatched lines (probably not but my mate from Lao got done for that)

Turning left on red when there is no sign (again following a local who will also be getting a letter)

Making an extra Fortuner lane when doing a U turn/right/left turn.

Q. Do we get a copy of the actual picture? If so OP can post it and we can all see?

VocalNeal, my wife spoke with the guy's wife whom we rented the car from and she was told that I changed lanes at the last moment to cross a bridge on Rattanathibet Rd in Bang Yai end of Aug. I don't remember the incident, but that is nothing compared to some of the manuevers we have to make to stay in one piece IMHO.

At any rate I didn't purchase my dash cam until the end of Sept ..when I see the photo and summons I'll post the details, but that probably won't happen until late Dec

My Thai wife and our Thai friends all seem to think that the photo my dash cam caught of that trucker taking the fly bridge off of that boat while going under the bridge was hilarious

Good resolution in the photo above.

What make and model Cam ??

G1W (1600 baht on Amazon)

The G1WH has an all black case for a few bucks more, I couldn't find one.

I paid 1700 Bht at fortune Town, awesome cam for the money, set it, turn it on and forget it. I'm running at 720p but it can go to a full 1000p hd, there are less files at 720p but as you said, the resolution is good. Here are some links about it, you have to be careful when buying one, there are alot of knockoffs, i understand that even Amazon has been selling the fakes without knowing.

Just make sure it has the Novatek NT96650 processor and the Aptina AR0330 CMOS sensor and you will be good.

Also if the camera records in AVI format or missing the HDMI port it is not the real deal.

It doesn't come wih a memory card, it takes a 32 Mb micro sd card, class 4 or 6 works best

32 Mb card goes for around 450-500 baht if you shop it.
