homeowners must report foreign guests

Hi, I too am getting confused if I should be registered with Thai Immigration. I have just moved to thailand and have a 1 year Non-Immigrant O visa with multiple entry, issued in the Uk. I know i need to leave thailand and re enter ever 90 days, which i naturally will do, and plan to get a marry visa or retirement visa some time next year.

I have rented a house on a 12 month contract, and asked with the farang landlord if he needed to register me with immigration, to which he said a fairly confident "No". However, I would like confirmation if this is correct. Jhan

It is not correct and he is wrong, but it is he who is afoul of the law not you.

I assume a notice is going to be sent to every home owner in the country. If not how will they know?

Ignorance of the law is no excuse I recall someone saying.

True but mind reading is out of most peoples capabilities as well.

Try telling a woman who has two young children she has to go to immigration with her husband and see the reply you get. I bet they wouldnt allow it to be posted here

Thanks for the information, I've been caught out in the past.
